The SEI Summer Internship Program is a 10week, paid summer experience for undergraduate students.

Interns are embedded on real teams, contribute to meaningful work, and gain early exposure to what it’s like to work in a professional, businessdriven environment — including how modern teams responsibly use tools like AI to learn faster and do better work.

The internship is designed as an early career exploration experience — helping students build confidence, understand how work gets done, and gain clarity on their interests as they begin their careers.

Who the Internship Is For

The SEI Summer Internship Program is designed for rising college seniors (students graduating with a bachelor’s degree in May 2028 are eligible for the 2027 program; 2029 grads for 2028 program, etc.) who are interested in gaining hands‑on experience, learning how a professional organization operates, and exploring potential career paths in a business environment.

Application Process

The recruitment process for the 2027 Summer Internship Program will begin in Fall 2026. When applications are open, opportunities will be posted on the SEI Careers site.

Students are encouraged to check the Careers site regularly for the most up‑to‑date information.

What the Internship Experience Looks Like

Real Work on Real Teams

Interns are placed directly on a team and take ownership of day‑to‑day responsibilities aligned to their role.

Learning How the Business Works

Beyond their immediate role, interns gain exposure to how SEI operates as a business, how teams collaborate, and how value is created for clients — including how technology and AI support decision‑making, learning, and day‑to‑day work in a client‑focused, regulated environment.

Learning & Development Support

Throughout the summer, interns participate in learning sessions designed to build professional skills, business awareness, and confidence in a workplace setting. This includes guidance on how interns are expected to learn and operate at SEI — using tools like AI responsibly as a support for thinking, learning, and problem‑solving, while maintaining ownership, judgment, and accountability for their work.

Relationships & Connection

Interns are encouraged to build relationships across the organization through informal conversations and coffee chats. These connections help interns learn how work gets done, where to go for answers, and how teams collaborate across SEI.

Program Focus

The internship is grounded in three simple goals

  • Understand yourself — students’ interests, strengths, and working style
  • Understand others — how people collaborate and communicate in a professional environment
  • Understand the business — what SEI does and how teams work together to deliver value

Across all three areas, the focus is on helping interns learn how work gets done at SEI — developing sound judgment, learning quickly, and understanding how modern tools fit into a professional, clientfocused environment.

The goal is not to have everything figured out by the end of the summer, but to leave with greater clarity, confidence, and readiness for what comes next.

Important Note

The SEI Summer Internship Program is a learning and development experience. It is not a guarantee of future employment and is not intended to replace academic study or longterm training programs.
