The SEI Strategic Portfolios provide a core investment solution designed to help meet a wide variety of investors’ financial goals. The Strategic Portfolios help you and your clients to take an objective investment approach with the aim of maximising returns, limiting volatility, and managing investment risk.

In one fund, they deliver a full portfolio solution that encompasses asset allocation, manager selection, manager allocation, and risk management, democratizing the investment solution and allowing you to focus on your clients and the achievement of their investment goals.

Inside our Strategic Portfolios

The Portfolios are highly diversified and are constructed using SEI’s Asset Class Funds as well as third-party funds, and manager pools.

Each asset class building block is comprised of sub-advisors, often with complementary investment styles selected and continuously monitored by SEI’s investment committee. Additionally, the asset allocation within each Strategic Portfolio is reviewed and rebalanced by SEI on a continuous basis, which helps to ensure that the Strategic Portfolios do not stray away from their objectives.

The combination of building blocks in our Strategic Portfolios results in a highly diversified, institutional quality investment solution comprising multiple funds and thousands of underlying investment holdings.

Each portfolio is structured as a single net asset value (‘NAV’) fund, which means that gains made on the sale of any underlying funds within a Strategic Portfolio are not subject to capital gains tax.

Five key benefits

  1. Unique goals-based approach. Our approach means that success is measured against a range of investor goals and not against benchmarks alone.
  2. High level of diversification. The asset allocation of each portfolio is designed to be well-diversified across up to six asset classes—equity, fixed income, inflation sensitive, income, liquidity, and absolute return.
  3. Access to some of the world’s best managers. Our team of more than 100 analysts located worldwide selects some of the best from the entire universe of investment products, including institutional and boutique managers not usually available to the retail market.
  4. Continuous portfolio management. Our analysts continuously monitor each manager’s philosophy, process, people, and performance. SEI’s sophisticated technology enables us to monitor the portfolio holdings and trades to ensure that the portfolios are aligned with the overall strategy.
  5. Aligned to investor risk profiles. Designed to cover a spectrum of investor risk profiles, the portfolios can be mapped to some of the market-leading risk profiling tools.

Our Strategic Portfolios extend across the spectrum of risk profiles and investment objectives, are ISA-eligible, and are available to investors all over the world. The suite of seven fund strategies falls into two groups: Stability-Focused and Growth-Focused.

  • Stability-Focused Strategic Portfolios – designed for investors who seek to protect against losses while working towards a comfortable level of growth.

The funds may invest substantially in other funds. The risks described below may apply to the underlying assets of the products into which they invest: Investment in equity securities in general are subject to market risks that may cause their prices to fluctuate over time; fixed income securities are subject to credit risk and may also be subject to price volatility and may be sensitive to interest rate fluctuations; bonds or money market instruments are sensitive to inflation rate trends; Absolute return investments utilise aggressive investment techniques which may increase the volatility of returns. If the correlation between absolute return investments and other asset classes within the fund increases, absolute return investments’ expected diversification benefits may be decreased.
