Who this notice covers 

“SEI Singapore”, “we”, “us” or “our” refers collectively to the separate but affiliated SEI entities in Singapore, rather than any single entity. These entities are SEI Investments (Singapore) Pte. Each entity is a separate legal person and is separately responsible for personal data in its possession or under its control. The entity identified in your relationship or communication will ordinarily be responsible for the relevant processing. Please note that where SEI Singapore processes your personal data as a data intermediary on behalf of another financial institution with whom you have a direct relationship, the privacy disclosures provided by that financial institution shall govern the processing of your personal information.

 

1. What this notice explains

This notice explains how SEI Singapore collects, uses, discloses, protects, retains and transfers personal data when you visit our website, contact us, request information, engage with us as a client, prospective client, investor, representative, service provider or business partner, or otherwise interact with us.

  • Identification and contact details, such as name, job title, organisation, postal address, email address and telephone number.
  • Professional and relationship information, including your role, authorised-person status, communications, enquiries and service interests.

  • Compliance and due-diligence information where relevant, including identity-verification, beneficial ownership, sanctions or screening data and records required by law or contract.

  • From clients and business partners, including where SEI Singapore processes personal data as a data intermediary or otherwise supports services provided to a client financial institution.
  • From SEI affiliates, service providers, technology providers, screening providers, financial institutions, custodians, administrators, regulators, public authorities and other third parties where relevant to the purposes described in this notice.
  • From public or lawfully available sources, such as public registers, regulatory databases, sanctions lists, corporate websites, professional directories and other sources used for verification, due diligence, compliance or relationship-management purposes.

 

4. Why we use and disclose personal data

Depending on the nature of your relationship with us, we may use the personal data we collect about you or that you provide to us:

  • To respond to enquiries, provide requested information and manage our relationship with you or your organisation.
  • To provide, administer, support and improve services and business operations.
  • To perform identity verification, due-diligence, risk, fraud-prevention, security, audit and compliance activities.
  • To operate, secure, analyse and improve our website, systems and communications.

We may disclose personal data to SEI affiliates, clients, professional advisers, technology and operational service providers, regulators, public authorities, courts, law-enforcement bodies, and other parties where authorised or required by applicable law. Service providers are contractually required to use personal data only for the purposes specified in our agreements and to protect it appropriately. We may also disclose information to

our third-party partners with your consent or where permitted by law, such as in the context of our use of cookies and related website technologies.

 

5. Cookies and website technologies

Our website may use cookies or similar technologies for essential operation, security, preferences management, marketing and analytics. These technologies may be provided by SEI Singapore, its service providers, or its third-party partners. Information collected through third-party trackers may also be made available to those partners. Where required, SEI Singapore will provide you the ability to control the types of trackers implemented through the website’s cookie controls or settings. 6. Security, retention and overseas transfers

We maintain reasonable technical, organisational and physical safeguards designed to protect personal data in our possession or under our control against unauthorised access, collection, use, disclosure, copying, modification, disposal or similar risks.

We retain personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this notice, to meet applicable legal, regulatory, contractual or legitimate business requirements, or as otherwise permitted by law. When personal data is no longer required, we take reasonable steps to securely delete it or anonymise it so that it no longer identifies you.

Personal data may be transferred outside Singapore where needed to support our services, business operations or legal and regulatory obligations. Where this occurs, we take appropriate steps to ensure the overseas recipient is bound to provide a standard of protection comparable to that under Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (“PDPA”), unless a prescribed exception applies.

 

7. Your choices and requests

Under the PDPA, you may have the right to request access to personal data about you that is in our possession or under our control, including information about how we have used or disclosed that personal data within the past year, and to request correction of personal data that you believe is inaccurate or incomplete. You may also withdraw consent that you have previously provided for the collection, use or disclosure of your personal data, subject to reasonable notice and any legal, contractual or practical consequences of withdrawal. Please note that these rights are not absolute and may be subject to limitations under applicable law.

Our website and services are not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children except where permitted or required by applicable law. If you believe a child has provided personal data to us, please contact us using the details in section 9.
