John Lau is Head of Investments for SEI Asia. He is responsible for manager research and portfolio management of the Asia-Pacific portion of SEI global portfolios. He is a senior member of the SEI Global Equity Committee and is involved in SEI global alternative investment strategies. Mr. Lau is also responsible for strategic asset allocation decisions for institutional clients in Asia. In addition, he serves as one of SEI’s foreign advisors to a global fund-of-fund under the China QDII program.

Prior to joining SEI, Mr. Lau spent 11 years as director and portfolio manager at Citigroup Asset Management in New York, where he managed global equity strategies, equity market-neutral fund, and structured products.

Mr. Lau is a graduate of the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor. He holds a master’s degree in Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley, and a MBA from Columbia University. Mr. Lau is a CFA charterholder.
