Globally, Financial Executives Searching for a Response to Volatility of Pension Investments - June 2008
In the first half of 2007, strong global equity markets and rising interest rates improved the funding status of pensions around the world. At the time, industry reports suggested that pension funds were willing to take on more risk in an attempt to increase returns. The volatility of the global markets in the second half of 2007 and early 2008 quickly reminded organizations that risk continues to be prevalent and difficult to predict.
