SEI Women's Network

Educate, Inspire and Connect

The SEI Women’s Network (SWN) is a very active affinity group on our campus. Its mission is to inspire and support the professional and personal growth of women.

SWN organizes educational and informative opportunities, drawing on talented speakers from within SEI and from the Philadelphia community — wherever it can tap into the knowledge, leadership and experience of relevant and challenging authors and other professionals.

Thanks to SWN, all employees have opportunities to attend roundtable discussions, workshops, and many other events. In all, SWN has hosted more than 35 programs with 3,500 participants, and shows no signs of slowing down. Some of the most popular include:

Annual golf outing that helps improve women’s networking skills as much as their golf game.

Taste for Caring, a wine and beer tasting event, and the Walk for Caring, a walk on the Perkiomen Trail. Both help raise awareness for breast cancer on campus and in the community.

The Annual Leadership Summit, which draws attendees from SEI and the Philadelphia community with a range of speakers, panel discussions and workshops.

SWN is always seeking themes that help us reach beyond our perceived limits. Some themes that have inspired SWN’s events:

  • Sheryl Sandberg’s book Lean In got everyone talking. SWN hosted a panel discussion and a series of roundtables throughout the year.
  • After reading LuAnn Cahn’s book I Dare Me, we all dared ourselves to make positive changes and pursue new challenges. SWN hosted several events and an employee-written blog based on the book.
  • The Limitless You, the inspirational theme for the 2016 annual SEI Women's Network Leadership Summit.
  • Giving with meaning and creating true prosperity – two concepts tied to empowerment through philanthropy.
