The SEI Advisor Network:
Leading the Evolution of an Industry
Access to information has driven affluent investors to become more knowledgeable and sophisticated. Over time, they have increasingly demanded more guidance and expertise from their financial advisors. Since our inception in 1990, the SEI Advisor Network has led the evolution of the financial services industry in response, continually building products and services to keep our advisor partners on the forefront of a changing industry.
We understand that an advisor’s most valuable asset is a focus on the education, advice and guidance of the client. We have committed ourselves to removing all obstacles that might detract from that focus by delivering to advisors a seamless and complete business solution. This is built on market research, a scientific investment process, fully outsourced back-office administration, leading-edge technology and expertise to help advisors get out from under all aspects of their business that do not add value for the client.
1993-94
· SEI was in the forefront in developing Total Asset Management Programs, for both institutions and individuals, enabling advisors to offer fee-based portfolio management and put themselves on the ”same side of the table” as their clients.
· SEI became one of the first in the industry to offer multi-fund, multi-manager programs to enable advisors to offer their clients more highly diversified portfolios.
1995-99
· A full line of tax-managed portfolios were created to help investors benefit from a greater net return after taxes
· Advisors want to be in the relationship management business; so SEI offered them a program that handles their back office administration, freeing time that they can devote to their clients.
· Small plan solutions were developed to help advisors identify and capture Defined Contribution and Defined Benefit Plans and Endowment and Foundation Plans for small institutions.
2000-03
· SEI pioneered the development of Integrated Managed Accounts in conjunction with Parametric Portfolio Associates for separate account solutions. These IMAP programs allow investors to benefit from the tax-efficiency of a single portfolio run by an overlay money manager.
2003-06
· Recognizing that the baby boomer generation is more demanding of the industry, SEI developed a system to help them balance life and wealth. Our goals-based investment system provides advisors with a platform to more completely understand and more efficiently respond to the needs of this generation.
SEI Advisor Network is an internal business unit of SEI Investments Company.
